:: Business Consulting

Our goal with Business Consulting is to help organizations improve performance and efficiency. Non-Profits and Agencies should consider hiring business consultants when they need help or perspective on their chosen path or need a catalyst for change in their companies.

What does a consultant do?

There are a number of reasons why business owners should consider hiring consultants:

  • Expertise in a specific niche (like Public Awareness Campaigns)
  • Identify problems and roadblocks
  • Supplement existing staff
  • Get the ball rolling on change and change management
  • Provide objectivity
  • Teach/train employees or recommend critical training paths
  • Do the “dirty work,” like eliminating staff
  • Revive an organization
  • Create a new business entity
  • Bring in a fesh outside voice

The first step for any business consulting engagement is the discovery phase, where the goal is to learn about your business. We always take the time to learn as much as possible about your business, from the top administrators right down to the newest employee. This can include touring your facility and community, meeting with the board of directors and employees and reading all company materials. During this process, the business our goal is to uncover the details of a company’s mission and what operations are in place.

Once an in-depth understanding has been developed, we enter into the evaluation phase, where the goal is to identify where change is needed. This includes identifying the company’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as current and foreseeable problems. These can include problems already seen by ownership and management, and new problems we see during the discovery phase. In addition to identifying both problems and opportunities, we will also recommend solutions to problems and offer ideas to allow your organization to capitalize on opportunities.

Constructive Criticism

It’s important for an owner to take our advice at this stage as constructive criticism, and not as a criticism to how anyone in the organization has been doing things. Our goal is to bring objectivity and a fresh viewpoint, whereas the owner and employees are usually to close to the business. We expect owners, boards and administrators to have feedback and provide opinions to what we are suggesting, and we are always willing to make adjustments to the plans as decisions are justified and identified as necessary.

Once all stakeholders agree on a plan, we enter the third phase of consulting to implement the plan. In this phase our goal is to build on assets and eliminate liabilities and roadblocks, as well as monitor progress with the plan and document adjustments that were needed so the efforts can be duplicated.

Final thoughts about Business Consulting

Anyone can call themselves a consultant, but it takes a combination of many skills to make for a good business consultant in the Public Awareness Campaign arena. It’s important to discuss the scale and scope of past campaigns and to understand that not all campaigns have a ton of documentation. However, by contacting past administrators who have paid for these services you can almost always find out if the company you are considering is a good fit.

Business consulting is not necessarily inexpensive. But the feedback and planning we can provide can help decrease your likelihood of failure and the loss of funding while helping to ensure future success and duplication by eliminating problems and identifying opportunities.

:: Budget Planning

Budget planning can be difficult for any organization large or small. At Public Awareness Campaign we realize that your organization may need basic help ranging from Expense Budget Planning and cost saving up to complex tax and Book Keeping services from a licensed CPA.

Our goal is to stay within Expense Budget Planning and Cost Savings and we would ultimately bring in an outside partner for more complex matters:

:: Strategy Development

Are other non-profits or agencies curios as to how you have moved so far ahead of the curve when talking about you in their boardrooms? Does your current strategy guide how you allocate resources? Can every employee articulate your strategy and are they empowered to execute on it? At Public Awareness Campaign, we see strategy as much more than a plan. We see it as the creative process that separates you from the crowd.

Fundamentals of Growth

Very few non-profits succeed in achieving sustained growth because their strategy is not to build long term assets. We help non-profits and agencies to grow by defining and focusing on building their base at every stage of their campaigns.

:: Campaign Asset Creation

Understanding campaign assets and the systems that deliver them is crucial to creating successful and duplicatable campaigns. Public Awareness Campaign has been trained in the following areas:

  • Topical Advocacy Training & Staff Counter Advertising Training
    by Dover Youth 2 Youth
  • Positive Community Norms by the Center for Health and Safety Culture Montana State University (Most Of Us)
  • Marketing Social Norms Planning, Data Collection, Strategy Development, Implementation, Evaluation by Michael Haines & Associates

:: Mass Media Buying

The fact is that Mass Media is changing and if you manage awareness campaigns some of the challenges that you can face are:

  • Understanding demographics
  • Combining traditional and digital assets
  • Proper formatting of materials
  • Digital and Print asset options and availability
  • Budget and Pricing negotiations
  • Contract negotiations
  • Auditing deliverables
  • Shipping brokering

At Public Awareness Campaign we understand that you may be a business administrator or a prevention specialist. We know that in most cases you do not have formal training and experience in these areas and fear being taken advantage of because of lack of exposure and we prevent this from occurring by bringing our local, regional and statewide experience to the table.

We offer the following Mass Media Options:

  • Radio Advertising
  • Mobile App Advertising
  • Pay Per Click Advertising
  • Facebook Advertising
  • Social Media Advertising
  • Billboard Advertising
  • Email Marketing
  • SMS Text Message Marketing
  • Television Advertising
  • Bulk Mailed Posters

:: Custom Turnkey Campaign Development

For us this is where the magic happens! A customer brings a budget ranging from $10,000 to $1,000,000 and says “what is the most exposure that we can get for our campaign budget”?

We spring into action and let the Reverse Engineering to the campaign goals begin…

The rest of the details are normally bound up in a nondisclosure agreement for a custom campaign. However, we would be happy to let you talk to a few administrators that we have run campaigns for once we determine your project specifics.

:: Promotional Materials & Campaign Prizes

Promotional merchandise, promotional items, promotional products and promotional gifts are articles of merchandise (often branded with a logo) used in marketing and communication programs. They are given away to promote a business entity, campaign, brand, or event. These items are usually imprinted with a business or campaign name, logo or slogan, and given away as part of guerrilla marketing campaigns.

In many cases Campaign Prizes and Promotional Materials are prohibited contractually by grants. As a result Public Awareness Campaign seeks donations or directly donates the promotional materials and prizes required to run a successful campaign.

:: Printing Services

From magazines and newspapers to billboards and direct mail print advertising is changing now more than ever before. Printed advertising still works if you are trying to reach an older demographic, but readership shifts and new competition from mobile phones and tablets mean your ad strategy must closely match consumer behavior.

We offer competitive prices for the following types of printed materials:

  • Brochures
  • Postcards
  • Door Hangers
  • Event Tickets
  • Posters
  • Rack Cards
  • Hang Tags

  • and more…
